Confused Verbs [T2]
- Notice = fijarse en, observar / To understand or become aware (or conscious) of sth
- Realise = darse cuenta / To see, hear or become aware of sth
- Raise = elevar, levantar /réis/ / To make sth go up (needs an object)
- Rise = subir, ascendir /ruáis/ / To go up (can’t have an object)
- Discuss = debatir, hablar de / To have a conversation about sth
- Argue = discutir, regañar / To talk angrily to sb because you disagree with them
- Prevent = prevenir / To stop sth from happening
- Avoid = evitar / To stop yourself from being in a situation
- Remind + sb = recordar algo a alguien / To make sb remember
- Remember +sth = acordarse de algo / The opposite of forget
- Hope = tener esperanza / To want sth to hapen
- Expect = contar con, suponer / To think sth is going to happen
- Mind = preocuparse / To be annoyed or worried by sth
